Vision Screening – December 8th

spot 2

Lake Oswego School District will be conducting the annual vision screening for students in your child’s school on December 8th.  Vision screening will be done by the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation.  The OLSHF uses a Spot screener to do the vision screening.  It looks like a large camera that takes a picture of your child’s eyes.

You will receive screening results within two weeks of the screening day, if your child is to be referred to a vision specialist.

If for some reason your child is absent on the vision screening day, or the Spot screener could not take an adequate picture of your child’s eyes; an LOSD District Nurse will screen your child’s vision using a distance eye chart.

You have the right to decline vision screening for your child.  Please let your child’s teacher know if you would not like your child to participate.
