LOSF Update

LOSF-logo_tagline_OL

Thank you so much to all of you who have pledged and donated to our 2015-2016 campaign so far!  Nothing is more important than investing in the education of our kids. We reached just over $978,000 by the end of last week which puts us almost half way to our $2 million dollar goal!

Can We Reach $1 million by spring break?

If you have not made your pledge or donation please consider helping the Foundation reach its next benchmark: $1 million by spring break.

DONATE NOW

Your gift, whether to the Annual Campaign or Endowment, funds teaching positions at every school in our district.  This year the Foundation funded 16 teachers across the district, above what baseline funding supports.  This included teachers in every elementary school and teaching positions instructing math, science, PE, band, health, English, social studies, language arts, ecology and marketing at our middle and high schools.

There are many levels of support and the Foundation encourages your family to participate in a way that is meaningful to you:

  • Counselors ($1–$499)
  • Mentors ($500–$1,249)
  • Starkweather Society ($1,250–$2,499, donors at this level or higher receive an annual athletic pass and an invitation to our Major Donor party in the summer )
  • Starkweather Valedictorian ($2,500–$4,999)
  • Bill Korach Superintendent’s Circle ($5,000–$9,999)
  • Chairman’s Circle ($10,000+)

There are also several ways to pledge or donate to the 2015-2016 campaign:

  • Make a one-time gift online
  • Send in a check (made out to Lake Oswego Schools Foundation) to school with your child
  • Become a Sustaining Donor and set-up a monthly gift
  • Donate Stock

Don’t forget about employer matches too! Many employers will match their employee’s gift. Click here and scroll to the bottom of the page to see if your employer makes matching gifts through our new Double the Donation site.

Thank you so much for your support!

The Foundation wishes you a safe and enjoyable spring break.

Road Closure Update

road-closed-sign1

I want to give you and Hallinan Elementary an update about an upcoming road closure.  Oak Street will be closed between Erickson and Cornell beginning March 21st.  The closure is expected to last about two weeks, but with this rain the production has been very slow.  Thus it may be extended.  The City has updated Student Transportation of America as well.  Laurel Street remains open so this should not be too disruptive for the parents driving their children to school.  If you have any questions please let me know.  Thanks.

Matt
