Smarter Balanced Assessment Essentials

This spring, students in grades 3-8 and 11 will take a new state test: the Smarter Balanced Assessment. Parents are invited to an informative session to learn the basics of the new test and how they can help support their children in learning the skills needed for success.

In this engaging and interactive session, parents will

• learn how the Smarter Balanced Assessment was created

• view examples of the four types of questions

• discuss the Common Core State Standards and skills that will be assessed
